On August 9th, 2009 Ceremony of Start of Sunrise Project of Supporting the Schooling and Taking hands and Distribution of the Fund of Supporting the Schooling from Love is held on the Jining Culture Square. Hou Duanmin, member of the municipal standing committee of CPC, vice mayor and chairman of Jining Charity Federation, attends it and addresses to the ceremony. And Diao Haifeng, president of Global Charity Magazine, makes a speech and heads of concerned departments directly under Jining municipality also participate in the ceremony.
On the scene, 28 loving-care organizations and figures raise paddles to donate money that amount to 202,300 RMB for the extremely needy freshmen. And the leaders attend the ceremony and confer donation certificates to them. The bus terminal of Jining public transportation group and Jining Guanglian pharmaceutical chain Co. Ltd. are granted “award of contributions to loving-care and supporting the schooling hand in hand”. And leaders attending the ceremony and delegates from the loving-care organizations and figures distribute the grant that amounts to 3000RMB to 60 extremely needy freshmen per person.
Diao Haifeng fully affirms the achievement of Jining charity cause in his speech. “This ceremony of supporting the schooling is not only an active exploration for the development of charity cause, but shows that Jining is a loving-care city” says he.
Hou Duanmin makes a keynote address at length and on the behalf of the Municipal Party Committee, the City Government and Jining Charity Federation, extends the warmest welcome to the pool reporters of China Loving-care City Discovery Trip, expresses sincere thanks and lofty respect to the friends from all circle of society who support the charity cause and contribute to sunrise project of supporting the schooling perpetually and incessantly, gives our best wishes to the extremely needy freshmen and their parents and show our gratitude to the media and reporters who give great support to Jining charity cause. And he highlights that education is an important part of people’s livelihood. Jinning Municipal Party Committee and the City Government in recent years thoroughly implement the Scientific Outlook on Development, emphasize guarantee of people’s livelihood, and take effective measures to implement comprehensively the policy on people’s livelihood, to improve people’s livelihood, to safeguard human rights and to maintain people’s welfare. However, there are still some needy families whose children, especially the extremely needy freshmen face the problem of schooling. It is important to hold this event for implementing the strategy of developing our city through science and technology and enhancing social harmony and stability.
Sunrise project of supporting the schooling is one of the city’s well-known charity item and a good event to spreading love, warming hearts and consolidating morale, even to promoting the strategy of developing our city through science and technology and constructing a rich civilized harmonious new Jining, which reflects the concern of Jinning Municipal Party Committee and the City Government to teenagers and wins compliments from all circle of society. He expresses three hopes that firstly, concerned organizations should sum up their experience seriously and innovatively and perfect its mechanism and mobilize various society resources and broaden the channels of raising fund in order to expand the coverage of students in poor families. Secondly, all circles of society would contribute to the project and spread their arms. Particularly, it is very necessary to appeal some great enterprises and groups to participate in charity cause so as to promote social harmony. Thirdly, the students who receive the money should cherish the valuable chance and have lofty aspiration to strive hard for being a useful person and contributing to his country and repaying back to society.
2009 Ceremony of Start of Sunrise Project of Supporting the Schooling and Taking hands and Distribution of the Fund of Supporting the Schooling from Love undraws the curtain of charity supporting the schooling at all levels in Jining. And this project would distribute the fund that amount to 10,006,140 RMB (including 2,870,000 RMB from Jining Charity Federation) in four aspects involving supporting the schooling of 3,660 needy students, subsidizing the left-behind children in the countryside, providing money for 8 schools’ reconstructions and charity skills training. And 1,800,000 RMB is used to support the schooling of 880 extremely needy freshmen specially.
It is learned that sunrise project has spent a total of 12,130,000 RMB in supporting the schooling of 8718 needy students from 2005 to 2008. And as one of the most influential items, “activity of supporting the schooling with love and hand in hand” has raised over 50,000 RMB in total and helped 155 extremely needy freshmen since 2007.
Pool reporters of commonweal events of “China Loving-care City Discovery Trip” supported by China Ministry of Civil Affairs, sponsored by Global Charity Magazine, involving about 20 central media and main media in five provinces and one city of east china arrives at its first stop, Jining and then visits the ceremony and surveys the citizens by questionnaire on people’s livelihood and commonweal charity, and accompanied by the leaders of Jiing City Charity Federation, interviews some related charity organizations and visits the scene of the activity of Jining Charity Publicity Week.
